Anger and Pain is Meant to Propel Your Purpose

The most uncomfortable feeling in the world is pain – worse it comes in varieties: pain in our emotions and feelings, we can feel it physically, physiologically, mentally. Pain comes in the form of false accusations and justifications against you.

When we don’t understand Yah’s plan we question, “Why am I going through this?” or “Why would Yah allow me to go through this?” followed by a list of everything we have done – or think we’ve done out of obedience. Sometimes bargaining because we believe we did nothing wrong.

Before I get into our topic for today, anger and pain has its place in our lives no matter how uncomfortable it can make us. Our businesses and everyday life aren’t exempt no matter how we want it to disappear.

I’m a “rip-the-band-aid-off” type of person and I don’t like going through pain unnecessarily, if I can help it – that’s my human being speaking. We believe we are invincible and we don’t deserve this “punishment happening to us”, not understanding that it’s for our good. Little did I know it was the place where Yah wanted me to be.

We see this with Joseph Genesis 37:23-25, 39:19-21, Queen Esther, Esther 4:13-16, King David 1 Samuel 17: 40-51, Ruth and Naomi, Ruth 1:15-19.  The thing they all have in common is their pain – we don’t remember them for it but how successful they were after getting past their pain.

Joseph was sold by his jealous brothers to Egypt. Once in Egypt, Zuleikah (Potiphar’s Wife) became attracted to Joseph and tried to sleep with him, then he was summoned to prison. In all this Yah was with him. We know him as the Prime Minister of all Egypt. Queen Esther or Hadassah was an orphan from her youth; her pain was losing her parents. By the grace of Yah we know her as Queen.

King David, before he was one of the greatest kings in scripture, was a “ruddy boy” who defeated the giant Goliath with only a stone and sling. We only remember David and talk about him as king. Last but not least, Ruth and Naomi. Two women who lost their husbands and the only life they knew to start over in Naomi’s homeland, Bethlehem. They didn’t know what to expect, they knew they would be taken care of. Boaz married Ruth, then Naomi gained a grandson. With all of them their new life was their business.

Prime Minister Joseph, Queen Esther, King David, Ruth and Naomi experienced some level of anger and pain. I’m sure they felt exactly what we felt when they were going through the testing and trials Yah had for them.

I’m sure they questioned and yelled at Yah and prayed “woe-is-me” prayers. They never cursed Yah and they never left Him. At some point they had to let go of what they were going through to embrace the blessing (they didn’t know) was waiting on the other side of the pain and anger.

Let Go and Let Yah!

The universal response to pain and anger is to try to avoid pain at all costs! We unintentionally make a mess of things when we do that.

How many times have you heard this in the midst of your emotions “Let go and let Yah!” Do you ever notice that this heightens whatever emotions you’re feeling in the moment instead of letting it go? What about when you’re “justified” and “right” to hold on to it? What’s worse is a business owner, they gotta keep those emotions in check for potential customers.

This secret  to releasing your anger and pain once and for all, without sinning and without the temptation of picking it back up: Activate your Faith, Feel your feelings, acknowledge to yourself and your Heavenly Father what you are feeling (not a complaint, not denial) while you pray.

If you’re having trouble releasing the feelings, the anger, the emotions, ask Yah to help you release it to Him. Yes, we can ask Yah to help us to release something we are having difficulty letting go. Admittance, Faith and releasing it are the keys – sometimes Yah won’t move until you tell Him what the issue is in your heart.

Remind yourself or ask Yah to remind you of why you started this journey. One of my favorite quotes not found in scripture is “If Yah brought you to it, He will bring you through it!” What this means to me is no matter what the situation(s) or circumstance(s) look like Yah has already has a plan for you to beat or escape from it and sometimes He will walk with you through it

For a little light reading, later on read the following scriptures, 1 Corinthians 10:11, Psalms 18:16-19, 31: 15-16, Jeremiah 15:21, Daniel 3:20-27
